If you care about golf in California, it’s time to get involved! Download and distribute the “nix the tax” flyer

Friends of CAG and of keeping golf vital in California:

As you have seen on our website, a new tax commission appointed by the Governor and state lawmakers—the Commission on the 21st Century Economy—is re-examining a proposal to extend the sales and use tax to golf play and services.

Just as you did last time, we are asking that you help us get the word out to defeat this tax. Please print out the flyer that you will find in the “Get Involved” section of our website. Put it up wherever you can – you local golf courses, shops, golf carts, club meeting rooms, etc. Also, keep spreading the word about the proposed tax and the www.forecalifornia.com website through emails and conversations with your friends.

We need to grow CAG’s coalition into a force of concerned California golfers to be reckoned with— to turn back the tax and to communicate the true face of golf in California.

Join us in this important endeavor and urge your friends to do the same. We can nix the tax—but only if you unite in the fight with your fellow golfers!

The majority of golfers in this state, by far, play municipal or daily fee public courses and are not members of country clubs, as many politicians would try to make the voters believe. Any new tax is going to affect youngsters, and senior citizens in a big way. The citizens who can least afford it.

Coming and going.I am so sick and tired of our so called LEGISLATURES constantly coming up with more ways to get our money.They must assume that if you golf that you are WELL OFF and have plenty of disposable income. In my case ,it's the only sport I can enjoy since I can't use my legs for running or climbing anymore due to an auto accident.Los Angeles has already added $1.00 to each round this year.I know its a small amount but there is a time when people need to recognize we are being manipulated by the FEDS,STATE and LOCAL.
