The State of California would be able to pay dividends to the people of this great State if only the Liberals would just realize tax cuts fuel ecconomic recovery and tax increases reduce revenue. To the self serving politicians of this state, try getting a job that adds to real GNP and stop being a self engrandizing parasite. j.m.

Are you trying to use a golf tax to balance CA's 2009 budget?
Try cutting some salary and jobs of those morons that work for you. I use the term work loosely.
What's next, a tax on the air we breathe because it has "minerals" in it? Why not tax people that drive Hummers? At least they can afford it.

Whoever politician came with this idea we need to know. he must not be a golfer trying to get money out of our pocket, hey moron stay out of this idea. We're trying to get our life last longer by going out to play golf as much as we can to relieve stress and be physically fit and we trying hard to strech our cash allowance for the green fees for more rounds and you're cutting us down.

How about taxing Gold's and World Gym and every body building piece of machinery and the duration of use! How about triple taxing steroids and all other body building substances. And, let's quadruple tax cigars too!
